Automotive Collision & Refinishing

This program offers a sequence of courses that provide technical skill proficiency and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of transportation, distribution, and logistics.

The content includes but is not limited to basic trade skills; refinishing skills; sheet-metal repair skills; frame and unibody squaring and aligning; use of fillers; paint systems and undercoats; related welding skills; related mechanical skills; trim-hardware maintenance; glass servicing; and other miscellaneous repairs. The course content also includes training in communication, leadership, human relations and employability skills and working in safe, efficient work practices.
Students have the opportunity to volunteer each year at our Annual Automotive Show. Field trips allow students the chance to see post-secondary education centers in the transportation industry and local shops where they can talk with professionals already in the industry.

Students gain skills and knowledge to prepare for the ASE certifications exams. Prior to graduation, they will have the opportunity to take the ASE Entry Level Certification exams in the following areas:
