Dual Enrollment

*RETURNING DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS* Begin on STEP 3 below and follow the directions.

STEP 1: Complete the Palm Beach State College " APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION" online at www.palmbeachstate.edu. Dual enrollment students are not required to provide documentation of Florida residency nor are they required to fill out the residency affidavit, however, students must apply as either a Florida or non-Florida resident.

STEP 2: Once you have completed the online application, you will receive an email with your Panther Web Student ID# and Pin#. You should then complete the Online Dual Enrollment Orientation:https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/orientation.aspx. Once the video is completed, students and their parent/legal guardian must print, sign, scan, and email the Dual Enrollment Agreement (there is a button linked next to the orientation video). The agreement will be sent to the dual enrollment inbox at DualEnrollment@palmbeachstate.edu. The subject line must have the students name, PBSC ID number, and Term. (For example: "Crinston Murray, C13726617, Spring 2022") Keep in mind, this will only be for students who are new to the program and have completed an application.

STEP 3: Choose your class(es) on the Palm Beach State College website at www.palmbeachstate.edu. Make sure that you choose class(es) that you are qualified to take according to your test scores and the prerequisites for the course. Park Vista recommends registering for a course after 3:15 p.m. Mondays - Fridays during the regular school year. There will be times that the bell schedule will be adjusted at PVCHS and you may not be dismissed at your regular time if you have periods off for dual enrollment, virtual classes off campus, and our junior/senior privileges. There are no time restrictions during the summer session for dual enrollment. NOTE:  If you would like a personal course advising appointment at PBSC, please call 561-868-3036. Let them know that you are a dual enrollment student wanting to set up an advising appointment.

STEP 4: If you have previously completed a dual enrollment course, the only document your counselor will need from you is the Dual Enrollment Authorization Form, which can be found at https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/documents/Dual_Enrollment_Authorization_2.pdf.  The form can be electronically signed and sent to your counselor. Your counselor will complete the form and any additional materials that must be attached and will email them back to you.

Students new to the Dual Enrollment program need their Dual Enrollment Authorization Form, GPA verification, applicable ACT, PERT, SAT and/or PSAT scores (because PERT testing is limited, we will still accept PSAT scores as long as they are no longer than two years old), and applicable AP, AICE and/or IB scores. Questions regarding PERT availability can be addressed to centraltesting@palmbeachstate.edu. All students doing Dual Enrollment for the first time must have college ready scores on ALL sections of testing. Please complete the Dual Enrollment Authorization Form (electronically signed) at https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/documents/Dual_Enrollment_Authorization_2.pdf and email it directly to your school counselor.

STEP 5:  Once you receive your completed paperwork from your counselor, it will be your responsibility to submit your documents to PBSC for processing. Students will upload their forms via https://www.palmbeachstate.edu/dualenroll/ (Click on: SUBMIT FALL AUTHORIZATION REQUEST).  (This link can also be found on the PBSC Dual Enrollment web page.) Students must have all of their documents ready before submitting a request.  Documents will be processed within 24-48 business hours (M-F) after being received. Once processed, students will receive a notification to their PBSC student email account (not personal).

STEP 6: Once you have completed the previous steps, you may go online to secure your class and print your schedule. Please email a copy of your schedule to Mrs. Williams at theresa.williams@palmbeachschools.org to confirm that you have registered in the course.

STEP 7: To order your textbooks, please see the Fall 2021 Dual Enrollment Book Voucher Directions.

STEP 8: When you have completed your dual enrollment course (after you take your final exam), you must return your materials to the nearest Booksmart location (Boca Raton or Lake Worth). Then, scan the receipt to Mrs. Williams at theresa.williams@palmbeachschools.org to be removed from the obligation list.
